8 Great Characters Marvel And DC's TV Shows Have Completely Screwed Up

8. Doomsday

The arrival of Doomsday in Smallville should have been a crowning achievement for The CW series, but it instead served as a warning of why TV shows like this should never try to push the boundaries without the budget to match their ambition. As you can see from the image above, he ended up looking terrible, and never once felt like a legitimate threat to Clark Kent as a result (their battle was also massively underwhelming). Rather than making him a mindless beast, the show also turned Doomsday into a werewolf type creature with a human side, an overly convoluted way of telling the villain's story which quickly fell flat despite a mostly decent performance from Sam Witwer as Davis Bloome, the secret child of Zod and Faora. Between this and the laughable rubber costume, everything about this version of Doomsday was ultimately a dismal failure.
