8 Things You Didn't Know About Marvel's Inhumans
1. The Quiet Room
Being a hero can be hard. Being a superhero can be even harder. That's why it’s important to mix work in with your hobbies, and come up with a plan for retirement. Black Bolt did just that, when he created a bar called Quiet Room, in the 2015 crossover story-arc Secret Wars.
In the events of Secret Wars, Dr. Doom had achieved god-like control over the entire world after destroying the Beyonders. He ruled the world with an iron fist, killing all those that stood in his way as he shaped the world to better suit himself.
The Quiet Room was essential, because the bar served as a neutral meeting place between heroes and villains alike, and initially worked as a sanctuary for those seeking solace from Doom’s persecution.
After Secret Wars ended, and Black Bolt was seemingly exiled from Attilan, he chose to build The Quiet Room on Earth 616. The bar still acts as a place where metahumans of different allegiances could discuss sensitive matters, without fear of harassment. That safety from oppression came from Black Bolt himself, who swore violence against anyone, friend or foe, who chose to ignore the bar’s sanctity.
