8 Ways It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Could End
3. The Gang Are Insane
You probably don't need much convincing on this one, as the Always Sunny gang are some of the most erratic, wild and unpredictable characters on TV. Not only do they act awfully, but each of them displays some drastic mental health concerns, with Frank and Dee both having spent time in a psychiatric ward (or "nitwit school" in the words of Frank).
But, Frank's life as Froggy and Dee's choice to "set a bitch on fire" aren't the only signifiers of insanity in the gang. There's Charlie, whose fume inhaling is clearly a sign of trauma, Mac whose years of repression between his sexuality and religion has undoubtedly caused some significant problems, and Dennis, a man who seems one bad day away from being Ted Bundy - and may have already had that day in secret.
Ultimately, the show could use this as a direction for the conclusion, revealing that the whole group have been in a psych ward the entire time. It might be a little outdated in the modern TV climate, but the show has never been one to stray from convention and political correctness without making a good point of it, so you'd have to trust that they'd do the same here.
