9 Big Questions After F Is For Family Season 3
The latest season of Bill Burr's Netflix comedy left a lot of questions behind.
Bill Burr’s Netflix project F Is For Family released its third season on November 30, and the show has gone from strength to strength. An already strong voice cast of Burr himself plus Sam Rockwell, Laura Dern and Justin Long was joined by Vince Vaughn, adding some dark new depths with Chet.
Unlike most animated shows, the passage of time is very clear in F Is For Family. Sue became pregnant after the events of Season 2’s finale, and got progressively bigger as the episodes wore on. Hobo Jojo, in particular, would have enjoyed that. As the season drew to a close, she was fit to burst, and a taxi with an unwanted guest pulled up outside the house, giving us at least two things to look forward to in Season 4.
However, this style of storytelling meant huge developments for lots of the Murphy household, as well as some shocking twists in the cul-de-sac. Whether it was a storyline being teased in the background, a gradual narrative growing or a cliffhanger ending, Season 3 left us with lots of questions for the show’s fourth outing.
9. What Next For Kevin’s Band?
Kevin seemed to make some improvements towards the very end of the season, but is, in his own words, still ‘a dildo’. He wants to connect with his family again, so it seems, and his new found summer school friends are a better influence than they first seemed.
However, Throbinson Crusoe are kicking on without his elfish shire influences, and things are only going to get better for them. If his band takes off without him, where will that leave him?
Kevin is not a terrible musician and definitely isn’t a poser; he makes the type of music he likes, even if no one else likes it. But he’s desperate to be famous and likely isn’t going to get a hit single with his experimental hour-long songs. Seeing his former bandmates bypass him so quickly is going to be hard to take.
Will season 4 see Kevin change his style, or return to music for the pure fun of it? Maybe he’ll give up music altogether, but whether that’ll lead to a positive new direction or an aimless depression for the character remains to be seen.
