9 Game Of Thrones Characters Who Need Spin-Off Shows
6. Tywin Lannister
Tywin Lannister was one of the show's main villains, who arrived half way through Season One and would go on to dominate every scene he was involved in, through to his undignified death at the hand of his son Tyrion, taking a crossbow in the chest while sat on his latrine. Tywin was a powerful commander in the war that saw Robert Baratheon take the Iron Throne, and took the opportunity to marry his daughter Cersei to King Robert, setting the wheels in motion for a Lannister eventually taking control of the Seven Kingdoms.
Every move he made had upholding the honour of his family name in mind, and he played a key role in keeping his grandson Joffrey on the throne in the war that followed the death of King Robert, pitting his soldiers to battle and cutting deals with other powerful houses against the Starks and Baratheons. Tywin eventually became Hand of the King during Joffrey’s rein and was the real puppet master in control at the heart of Kings Landing.
He is certainly one character with a rich back story that we could see explored in a spin-off series. A show delving into the backstory of the Lannisters, who are one of the richest houses in Westeros, would certainly be intriguing and would also show the childhoods of Tywin’s three children, Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion, which would also provide engaging viewing for fans.
