6. The Obsessed Fan
Also known as the fanboy/girl and the most popular type of Doctor Who fan. These are the ones who don't just watch the show (no, that would be silly!) - they live, dream and breathe it. As such, Doctor Who is now part of their daily routine and they seemingly can't get by without indulging in the ongoing escapades of their beloved Time Lord. Whether that's by watching an episode, sharing in the journey with their fellow fans online or surrounding themselves with merchandise, their lives are defined by Doctor Who and, unlike the aforementioned Secret Fan, they'll openly admit it, too. They're proud of their obsession which means they're the life and soul of any Whovian gathering. If you're not a fan they'll try their damned hardest convert you, too, by enlightening you with tidbits of trivia that they really shouldn't know. They've convinced themselves that their unequivocal knowledge about their favourite Time Lord will turn out to be useful one day, though, and there's no point even attempting to take them on in a good old fashioned game of Doctor Who Trivial Pursuit so you might as well quit while you're ahead. It's admirable, really, that they have something in life that makes them so happy. That's one of the unique powers that Doctor Who possesses. It actually can make you happy and, if you let it, its appeal can stretch far beyond the realms of Saturday night teatime television. Far, far beyond. Keep calm
