Zombies are the vampires of 2015: played out. The slow-moving shamblers will never go away, and will always have a special place in the hearts of horror fans, but honestly, they've had their day. Fact is, zombies aren't all that intimidating once you've seen a thousand of them cut down to size (or well, shot/stabbed in the head) in a show like The Walking Dead. The creep factor is gone. The Deadites in Ash vs. Evil Dead? Well, since there's no set formula as to what a deadite is, there's a heck of a lot more variety. From possessed humans to living corpses with all sorts of gnarly wounds, to the happy little character you see above, it's a murder's row of gross, disgusting beasties - much more fun for genre fans! Plus, they have a wicked sense of humor, which is far more entertaining than mute walkers.
