9 Star Trek: The Animated Series Aliens That Should Appear In Live Action

5. Sord’s Species

Sord made his only appearance in The Jihad as part of the same team as Em/3/Green. A member of an unnamed, spacefaring reptilian species, he had scaly skin, clawed hands, a large head crest, a tail, and digitigrade legs. He also wore a shirt but no pants.

While numerous reptilian species have been depicted on Star Trek, Sord's species could provide a contrast to some of the better known, particularly the Gorn.

As depicted on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the Gorn are truly frightening adversaries. They are brutal predators who barely acknowledge other species as sentient. Instead, according to La'an Noonien Singh, they think of others as either food or living incubators for their eggs.

During the quest for the alien relic, Sord proved that his species is capable of compassion, courage, and cooperation. He helped protect the team from a lava flow by placing rocks in its path, carried a tired Em/3/Green when Em wanted to give up, protected Em when the team was attacked by robotic sentinels as they neared their goal, and helped capture Tchar, the episode's villain.

Sord's species would make excellent allies in both the inevitable war with the Gorn and future conflicts.
