9 Upcoming TV Shows Based On Movies (That Will Probably Suck)

2. The Exorcist

It's hardly sacrilege to be adapting a true horror classic for TV, because The Exorcist II: The Heretic is a thing, but that doesn't mean TV's The Exorcist is gonna get a pass - indeed, fans of the film are likely to come down hard on the series, and in honesty it's hard to see it being a great success.

The series has been created by Jeremy Slater, who wrote the screenplay for last year's disastrous Fantastic Four film (although in fairness, it's not clear how much of his script actually made it into the film), and the possession/exorcism story doesn't really seem like it'll lend itself to a week-on-week storytelling method.

The latest trailer for the series was unveiled at Comic-Con, and it looks utterly bonkers, but not necessarily in a good way.
