4. The Baudelaires And Quagmires Will Team Up

As the Baudelaires arrive at Prufrock Preparatory School and quietly contemplate their fate, they're unknowingly joined by the Quadmire children, who mirror them in more ways than one. It's obvious in the imagery that they're similar, and have had similar fates befall their parents.

More interesting, though, is that they each have a half of the spyglass. It's a tool closely linked to the Baudelaire's parents and to the mysterious V.F.D., and the imagery here (and Lemony Snicket's narration) very much suggests that we're going to see these two sets of orphans working together during Season 2, especially in the first two-parter The Austere Academy.

If you then take that further, it means that the two sets of orphans should be linked beyond that. Of course, the TV show may go in different directions to the series, and can do/show different things that are only hinted at on the page. Regardless, the sight of these children here means their fates are inextricably intertwined.
