Agent Carter: 10 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See

As much as Agent Carter is a spin-off from the first Captain America film, and thus contains numerous references (and just straight-up scenes taken from) The First Avenger, its place in the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is much more nuanced than that. The appearance of Howard Stark as a main character and that cameo by Anton Vanko are just the tip of the iceberg. Both episodes also feature reference to Roxxon, a huge global conglomerate which is usually behind some sort of nefarious goings on in the comic books. In Agent Carter so far they've appeared as the sponsors of the Captain America Adventure Hour, and one of their supposedly €œmoth-balled€ factories turned out to be the location of more missing nitramene. Besides being an increasingly big bad in the comics they've also popped up in the background of other Marvel movies. In Agents Of SHIELD their subsidiaries are behind the Deathlok technology, they appear briefly in a couple of Iron Man films, and the One Shot A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer takes place at a Roxxon gas station. Agent Carter looks like the moment they go from background to foreground.
