Agents Of SHIELD: 10 Reasons Season 2 Is A Massive Improvement

4. Skye's Development

The show's clever hacker has come a long way since she stumbled onto SHIELD in the first season. Agent May has obviously been giving this SHIELD rookie extra training as Skye can now run, shoot and fight with the best of them! Already close to Coulson, she has proven invaluable, being the one to work out what the carving compulsion that afflicted Coulson and others actually meant. Combat Skye is now a force to be reckoned with; from the start of the season she rappelled into shot in her cool new gear, complete with fetish gloves and hood, and her fight with Agent 33, though one she eventually lost, displayed her new identity as a badass. It's been a personal journey for Skye too, however, finding out upsetting truths about her origins and discovering her father is a psychopath. From the mid-season finale it's also clear that being in proximity to the Diviner has unleashed Skye's superhuman powers. Comic book fans will know that Skye is really Daisy Johnson, a key player in SHIELD lore with powers that earned her the codename Quake. If she wasn't already formidable enough, she can now literally make the earth move!
