3. The Twins Get Separated And One Becomes Lana
Some viewers have suggested that Dot and Bette Tattler get separated and Bette goes on to become Lana Winters, the reporter in season 2. Tattler as a last name does make one think of a journalist "tattling" on the asylum. Why Bette you ask? Bette is certainly known for being demure, and Dot was the strong-willed character; however, Bette was also known for her desire to be famous and her emulation of Hollywood celebrities, including Veronica Lake and Betty Grable. Perhaps Bettes own desire for fame, as exhibited in Freak Show, will lead her towards fame in any way she can, even if that means writing instead of acting. They both kept diaries, after all. Sure, youre wondering how in the heck those twins going to survive separation, but in a world where mutants live in the forest outside of Boston and Constance has a 20 year old boyfriend, anything is possible.
