American Horror Story: Ranking Jessica Lange's Characters From Worst To Best
4. Constance Langdon
Lange's first character on American Horror Story was, of course, the iconic Constance Langdon. Appearing in the anthology series' first season - which is commonly known as Murder House - the ageing lady took no prisoners, and proved to be a thorn in the Harmons' side after the family moved into the eponymous house.
Constance was an expert on all things supernatural, and she often imparted her wisdom on Ben and Vivien (and the viewers, for that matter). Her tragic backstory only intensified the strength of the character, and in spite of her evil nature, Constance became a fan-favourite, and remains one of AHS' most recognisable characters. Lange recently reprised the role in a few episodes of Apocalypse, and captivated us all once more, delivering a breathtaking monologue during the sixth episode.
For her work on Murder House, the actress won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. This performance revitalised her career, and Constance holds a special place in our hearts for this very reason. To place her at the bottom of this list feels wrong, but that's a testament to just how strong each of the actress' characters are.
