With the defeat of Ra's al Ghul at the end of last season, another has risen to take his place as the new Demon's Head, the leader of the League of Assassins. Despite the wishes of Ra's, it isn't Oliver Queen. Instead, Malcolm Merlyn is now the man in charge at Nanda Parbat, and it's going to be very interesting to see how he now fits into things. He wields a lot of power, and could once more be using that to help Team Arrow, as he did towards the end of last year, or prove to be a major foe once again, much like the Merlyn we saw in season 1. Hopefully we'll get a bit of each, with Merlyn playing both sides for his own nefarious ends. One character who won't be happy with his new leadership role is Nyssa, Ra's' daughter who believes she should have taken his place. Her position in the League will now be an uncomfortable one, but rather than simply leaving or accepting Merlyn's rule for the entire season, it could be very fun to watch the two face-off later down the line.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
