"You know what you have to do, right? You have to kill the son of a b*tch!" Felicity's appearance at the end of the mid-season finale proved once and for all that she's not in the grave; her words are evidence that her mother might be. Donna Smoak wasn't someone really considered a possibility, because she had generally been on the outskirts of the show, occasionally flitting into Felicity and Oliver's life, but only around for a couple of episodes. If they were to tease a death, then it'd need to be someone bigger. However, she has had more of a presence in recent weeks, become a more regular feature around Oliver and Felicity, but most notably for her relationship with Quentin. The character is becoming more developed, which means that the audience will start to care about her more, and her death would actually carry some emotional impact. Given Darhk has already targeted Felicity, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to then target Donna, in particular given her newfound connection with Quentin, another person who'll be in Darhk's crosshairs before too long.
