Arrow Season 4 Spoilers: Everything You Need To Know
New heroes. New city. New season starts October 7.
Get ready to aim higher. At least, that's what the promotional images have been telling us, which means that Arrow season 4 is just around the corner.
Following hot on the heels of The Flash's second season premiere, we'll be picking up life a few months on from where we left off at the end of season 3. That was with Oliver and Felicity riding off together into the sunset, Speedy joining Team Arrow, some division in the ranks, the tease of a new villain, oh, and that explosion that appeared to kill Ray Palmer.
Suffice to say that there's a lot of material for Arrow's fourth year to deal with, and it's one that promises to be rather different to the ones that have came before it. Changes are nothing new for the show, but they've generally been a bit more subtle - going from the Hood to the Arrow, and then learning exactly what that means, with a couple of devastating losses along the way.
This time around will include those usual shifts, but on a much larger, more obvious scale. There'll be magic, mythicism, a lighter tone, and a new hero. The show is going to be something else entirely.
13. Welcome To Star City
That explosion at Palmer Technologies didn't look too good for the fate of Ray, given he was in the building at the time, and certainly the residents of Starling City don't think he survived. Or rather, the residents of Star City.
Yes, the city has finally undergone the name change that Palmer himself had been pushing for, and it's taken his apparent death for it to happen. Of course, this brings the show more in line with the comics, where the city has always gone by the name, and indicates a move closer to the source material.
As for Ray Palmer, well, we know he isn't actually dead, and you'd imagine a select few of Star City's finest will be finding out as well, as he'll be one of the stars of spin-off DC's legends of Tomorrow, which is going to be setup on both Arrow and The Flash before debuting in mid-season, which means we'll also have some epic three-way crossovers featuring the likes of Oliver, Barry, Ray, the time-travelling Rip Hunter, and more.
