Arrow Season 5: 4 Characters That Absolutely Cannot Die (And 5 That Can)

2. John Diggle

One of the problems with Arrow recently (not a comparatively major issue, but still enough to be noticed) is the sidelining of John Diggle. The show has continued to expand its cast, with Team Arrow getting bigger and bigger, and as a result of that Digg has often been pushed to the sidelines (in fairness, it was worse in Season 3 than 4, but now he's gone off from the team entirely).

The issue with that is Diggle is a big part of the show's heart. He's been there since the beginning, and is an important character in keeping Oliver on the right path, while being a highly competent crimefighter in his own right - also, no one does the 'surprised by superpowers' thing better than David Ramsey, and that alone makes him worth keeping around.

He may not always have the biggest part to play in things, but he guarantees a strong performance and an emotional core that helps keep the series grounded.
