Arrow Season 6: 7 Reasons Why It's Better Than You Think

3. Oliver's Identity Was Finally Outed

If there is one thing that the Arrowverse writers love doing, it's maintaining the status quo. Sure, every so often (usually in premieres and finales), things will get rocked a little, leaving us questioning how the show could possibly carry on after these shocking events, but in the end, the tide is turned and the status quo is enforced. As a result, risks aren't taken and things get a little repetitive.

However, Season 6 wasn't afraid to throw a real spanner in the works. By teasing us with the F.B.I.'s investigation into the Green Arrow, we initially thought that (like with the Diggle storyline) this would be just another chance to revisit old territory in an attempt to hook us like Lance's original investigation did before allowing Oliver to overcome the odds once more and escape incarceration - something he did manage to do. But then, he took it upon himself to publicly reveal his identity to the world.

The shocking moment altered the show's dynamic dramatically - changing things up in a way that can never be undone. It didn't just change the status quo, it obliterated it, ultimately setting the stage for an entirely different seventh season - and we all know how well that has worked out so far.

Sometimes, a little change can be good.
