Arrow Season 6: 7 Reasons Why It's Better Than You Think
2. A Phenomenal Conclusion
It's safe to say that the first half of Season 6 was rather hit-and-miss. Storylines were frustrating, episodes felt redundant and we still didn't really know what it was trying to achieve. Though it showed a lot of promise throughout, it would drop the ball again (even more-so this time) when it returned from its mid-season break.
The infamous Team Arrow civil war was reviled by fans for its infuriating developments and the fact that it quite clearly accomplished nothing (other than holding the show back). However, when the war was over and the smoke settled, Arrow's sixth season rose from the ashes.
With all of the dead weight in the past, the writers would decide to reshuffle things for the better, starting afresh in some aspects while finally pulling the trigger on others. Diaz's introduction allowed for a change of pace and tone while the Quentin/Laurel bonding that the show had been teasing finally began developing at a satisfying pace.
With enticing episodes and story moves that actually made sense, the season's final six episodes was one of the most consistent series of episodes that the show had ever produced. While it is a shame that they didn't belong to a more consistent season, there is no denying that they play a major part in proving that Season 6 actually had a lot to offer.
All of this ultimately built towards one of the best finales in Arrowverse history, tying up the necessary loose ends while leaving some of the best open for Season 7.
