Roy Harper and Thea Queen have had an on again, off again relationship for years now (mostly due to their respective decisions to leave The CW series) but the finale finally saw them commit to each other when the hero known as Arsenal popped the question!

"I always wanted them to be together in the end, no matter what," Schwartz explains. "I love them together, and they’re one of my favourite relationships in the series." Guggenheim adds that he was the one who pushed for the marriage proposal because that felt like the right way to bring their respective arcs full circle and make sure that this reunion sticks.

"They’ve been together off and on, off and on, over the course of eight years, and I was like, 'How do we keep this from being different from the previous 20 [reconciliations]? Their relationship has to move forward, they have to make a long term commitment to each other. And [an engagement] just felt right."

With Green Arrow and the Canaries taking place in 2040, it's hard to say when we'll return to Star City to see these two tie the knot but as happy endings go, this was a fitting one.
