Arrow Series Finale Review: 12 Ups & 4 Downs From 'Fadeout'

5. Roy And Thea Get The Happy Ending They Deserve

Arrow series finale Roy Harper Thea Queen
The CW

If there was one couple in the Arrowverse that transcended the notorious 'ship wars' among the fandom, it was undoubtedly Roy Harper and Thea Queen. The pair have been soulmates right from the start (well mid-Season 1 but you get the point) and everyone fell in love with them as they fell in love with each other.

The Arrow finale simply wouldn't have succeeded had it not given these two the happy ending that they deserve, and the fact that the writers pulled it off really is something that should be applauded.

The pair have overcome arguments, deaths and even resurrection just to go their separate ways, so another reunion simply wouldn't have been enough here. Roy's marriage proposal and Thea's acceptance brings a fulfilling end to what was, without a doubt, Arrow's most organic pairing.

These two deserve happiness and, more importantly, they deserve each other; it's fitting that they finally progressed their relationship in the finale.
