Batman Beyond: 10 Best Villains

1. Blight

Batman Beyond Return Of The Joker
Warner Bros.

Considering the whole, ya know, setup of Batman as a character, it's shocking how proudly and effectively anti-capitalist Batman Beyond as a show is. And all of it is summed up in Terry McGinnis' greatest foe, Blight.

Originally Derek Powers, the co-CEO of Wayne/Powers Inc., Derek first met Terry after he arranged for his father to be murdered before he could leak classified documents to the press. Terry got his first bit of payback by dousing him in chemicals that turned him into a walking nuclear reactor, barely able to hide his new terrifying visage behind false skin that burns off the second he becomes upset.

Blight is the best Batman Beyond villain due to his deeply personal rivalry with Terry, being the one who set him on the path to becoming Batman, his creative power set which perfectly symbolizes his ruthless-capitalist persona, and of course for the brilliantly monstrous performance of Sherman Howard. Blight is everything you could ask for in a great comic book cartoon villain in one concerningly glowing package.
