Batwoman Season 1 Premiere: 7 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Pilot'
5. The Music
Music is synonymous with superheroes. It's hard to think of Superman without hearing John Williams' classic score or Batman without one of Danny Elfman or Hans Zimmer's iconic themes playing in your head. Yep, every great hero needs great music.
Within the first few seconds of the Batwoman premiere, it was clear that she too had her theme. In fact, she had retained it from her appearance in Elseworlds, as a slight variation of the powerful and triumphant Blake Neely-composed theme played over the opening titles and then recurred throughout the episode.
There was a great majesty about that music that gave Batwoman an epic larger-than-life and almost mythical feel - which is why it was so infuriating to hear that generic pop track in the trailer. Thus, it goes without saying that it was a wise choice to bring it back for the series.
Every hero has a theme, and Batwoman has found hers. And what a goosebump-inducing theme it is.
