Batwoman Season 1 Premiere: 7 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Pilot'
4. Gotham City Looks Like Gotham City
As unique as all of the Arrowverse shows are, the fact that all of them are filmed in Vancouver results in Star City, Central City and National City bearing more than a few similarities. There isn't anything that really sets them apart from each other - and that is something that robs them of a unique visual aesthetic.
Now, as unique visual aesthetics are what Gotham City is all about, it was imperative that Batwoman didn't fall into the same trap. And thankfully, the first few moments of the show highlighted that it had no intention of doing that.
The exterior shots are filmed on the streets of Chicago which instantly allows it to stand out from all the rest - presenting Gotham as a more unique city in a multiverse full of similar settings. Moreover, it utilises the same Wayne Enterprises building that Christopher Nolan used in his acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy - which was also filmed in Chicago.
Undoubtedly a nice way of setting Batwoman apart as a visually larger-than-life production, Gotham City has never looked better.
