The Big Bang Theory: 8 Reasons To Be Excited About Season 8
8. Raj May Finally Be Getting Some Of The Spotlight
Considering hes one of the central cast of four geeks, Rajesh Koothrappali has been badly served by his storylines in the last seven years. While the others have gradually changed and grown none more so than Rajs heterosexual life partner Howard, whos gone from being a creepy little predator who lives with his mother, to a loving husband and almost mature and functioning member of society Raj has been left stranded. Poor Kunal Nayyar. The only real development his character has had is to finally be able to talk to women without getting tipsy first, and you get the sense that they only threw him that bone because theyd written themselves into a corner with Rajs crippling anxiety issues. But after the forty-five day jump from the end of season seven to the beginning of season eight, one thing we do know is that Raj is still with Emily, the unfeasibly attractive woman he was dating and actually slept with when we last saw him. Forty-five days plus change. That has to be some kind of record for Raj. Whether hes still with Emily or not as the season progresses, scuttlebutt (like gossip with its trousers down) has it that season eight will have a focus on Raj actually finding some real happiness. Lets face it, its long overdue.
