Breaking Bad: 10 Reasons Why It’s The Best Show in T.V History

4. The Concept

If you€™re reading this piece, then you already know the concept but I€™m going to recap it anyway: a terminally cancerous, underachieving chemistry teacher decides to start cooking crystal meth to pay for the cost of his own death, but eventually finds himself in remission and sitting atop the criminal hierarchy as the apex predator of New Mexico€™s drug community. I€™m sorry, but that is fucking genius. Does it make Walt a bad guy? Not exactly. Is he a good guy? Hell no. Is he an antihero then? Well, no, not really, I wouldn€™t say he was particularly heroic at all. Then what is he? I€™ll tell you what he is; he€™s possibly the most complex, most human, most inspirational yet most cautionary character I might have ever seen grace the small screen. And dear god, do I love him for it. Of course a concept is only half the battle, but a good one will draw an initial audience in. But after that, word of mouth will either kill it or guide it to the top of the ratings. Thankfully, this incredible concept is then backed up with probably the best show in T.V history.
