Breaking Bad: 10 Times Walter White Made You Genuinely Root For Him

5. Saving Jesse From The Drug Dealers

Much of the story in Breaking Bad centres distinctly around the relationship between Walt and Jesse. It's what essentially makes the whole show tick, as Walt gradually imposes his will and power over his former student.

The scheming and manipulative side of Walt means he often does things to get Jesse onside and earn his trust, whether it be having to spin a lie to Pinkman or seemingly prove himself.

In season three, Walt does this in spectacular circumstances, getting not only Jesse onside but the viewer.

As Jesse approaches two of Gus' drug dealers on a street corner, it looks like he is going to meet his end as they both see him coming a mile off and prepare to draw their weapons. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Walt crashes into the pair, killing one instantly, before standing over the other and executing him with a single bullet to the head.

Walt's simple instruction of "run" to Jesse is one of the show's most iconic moments.
