Breaking Bad: 10 Worst Things Gus Fring Has Ever Done

7. Giving Up Hank To The Cousins

Back during a time when he thought Walt had some value to him in episode six of season three, Gus is visited by the cousins at Los Pollos Hermanos, who are planning to kill Fring's head cook in retaliation for his involvement in the death of Tuco.

Gus holds a tense meeting with the cousins in which he asks why they're hellbent on taking down Walter White specifically, pointing out that it was actually Hank who "pulled the trigger" on Tuco. After reminding them that matters north of the border are his territory and his decisions to make, he convinces the cousins to turn their attention towards the DEA agent.

Willingly giving up the name of someone, knowing full well you're potentially signing off their death warrant, is one thing, however in typical Gus fashion, the kingpin goes one step further by giving Hank the heads up by ringing him just as the cousins move in for their shootout.

This manipulation of the cousins by Gus was just another chess move from the kingpin, with the attack on Hank bringing the weight of the DEA onto the cartel, as well as taking out the two hitmen and eliminating Fring's immediate competition.
