Breaking Bad: 5 Alternate Scenes We're Glad We Didn't Get To See

3. Walt Frees Jesse From Prison

Breaking Bad Prison In the season 5 episode, Gliding Over All, Walt orders a series of hits across three different prisons in an attempt to assassinate and silence Mike's former cohorts. What follows is a montage of bloody and gruesome murders in less than two minutes, probably one of my personal favourite scenes from the show. And Gilligan and his team of writers originally intended for Walt to hit another prison, but this time to free Jesse. In flash-forwards during season 5, we see Walt with his hair grown back carrying around an M-60 machine gun in the trunk of his car, which was eventually used to murder Uncle Jack's Nazi gang. However, in one alternate scenario, Walt used the same gun to break Jesse out of jail, but this idea was scrapped because the show's writers didn't want to show the character shooting at innocents. We're glad this idea ended up on the cutting room floor because everyone Walt killed (by his own hand) throughout the show's run deserved to die, and seeing him killing police wouldn't have sat well.
