Breaking Bad: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best

4. Season One: A No-Rough-Stuff-Type Deal

Breaking Bad
AMC

The show's first season came to a brutal end in A No-Rough-Stuff-Type Deal, which follows Walt and Jesse as they attempt to stay on the good side of vicious gangster Tuco Salamanca whilst trying to keep up with his impossibly high demands.

This is the main plot of the episode, and it's exhilarating to watch Walt and Jesse fumble their way so naively into the big, dangerous world of meth dealing. But there's more to the episode than the violence and its shocking final scene, which makes it abundantly clear that the hapless pair are now in too deep.

There's also the inclusion of Marie's brief foray into kleptomania, and a thrilling look into how much Walt loves to be in danger when he and Skyler have sex at the school. Each plotline builds up the relationships and shifting personalities of its characters beautifully, making its final twist all the more effective.

Though not as strong as later season's finale, season one ends on an undeniable high, and promises so many more great things to come. From here, the show would only get better.
