Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best
3. Johnny And Dora (Season Two)
Will they/won't they romances tend to split the room. Either you love seeing couples dance around their feelings before finally coming together, or you grow tired of the clichés and pitfalls that those kinds of stories fall into. Well, even those with the latter opinion can still agree that the romantic dynamic between Jake and Amy works wonderfully, and this episode was a major milestone in that.
"Johnny and Dora" shows as Jake and Amy pose as an engaged couple to get close to an identity thief, naturally making their awkward romantic tension bubble to the surface. Alongside this comes Boyle planning a surprise birthday party for Rosa and Holt trying to save himself from being transferred.
The episode's plot isn't anything too extensive, but the dynamic between Amy and Jake is entirely worthwhile and carries the episode. Every character has a meaningful and emotional moment in this outing, leading to one of the most wholesome chapters in the show.
Then, you're slapped in the face with the tear-jerking goodbye that Holt gives once he resigns to leaving, and you finally get to see Amy and Jake come together. It's got emotion, humour and sadness, just like a finale should.
