Buffy The Vampire Slayer Cast: Where Are They Now?

1. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers)

Buffy cast
Mutant Enemy

Despite her badass on-screen persona in Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar spent much of the '90s and early '00s starring in horror movies. With roles in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2 (both 1997), as well as Cruel Intentions (1999), and The Grudge (2004), she used the movies to contrast her role on the cult show.

When Buffy finished up in 2003, Gellar took a few movie roles in The Grudge 2, Southland Tales (both 2006), Possession (2009) and the Scooby-Doo series (2002-2004), but has primarily stuck to TV.

With recurring and guest roles in The Simpsons, Star Wars Rebels and The Big Bang Theory, Gellar's most prominent TV work since the end of Buffy came from two short-lived shows bursting with potential. The thriller Ringer ran for only one season, but offered the actress the chance to play polarising duel roles.

With Ringer axed, she went on to star alongside Robin Williams in The Crazy Ones, a show which was cancelled just before Williams' untimely death.

Though her input has been slower than usual in recent years, she is set to appear in a number of upcoming projects. Gellar is signed on to be the lead in two shows currently in development - the mini-series Sometimes I Lie and Other People's Houses - and earlier this year it was also confirmed she'd be appearing in Kevin Smith's Netflix movie Masters of the Universe.

Not bad for someone who spends all their time saving the world.
