Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season Two
Season Two is a very personal season for everyone involved. Watching Angel lose his soul and become king tormentor and Big Bad to the Scooby Gang is often tough to watch, but thanks to David Boreanaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar's obvious chemistry, it's also the show at its most compelling.
The addition of Spike and Drusilla takes the show to more fun and threatening places, and episodes such as "School Hard", "Surprise" and the epic two-part finale "Becoming" makes this season Buffy at its most shocking and emotional. "I Only Have Eyes for You" is an underappreciated gem, too, but "Passion", in which Angelus kills Jenny Calendar and leaves her to be found by Giles, is Joss Whedon at his most cruel and ingenious.
In fact, the only thing keeping Season Two from the top spot is "Go Fish", which is a classic fun monster-of-the-week romp, but one which ruins the momentum of the coming finale.
