Casting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Reboot

3. Odo - Peter Capaldi

Doctor Who Hell Bent Peter Capaldi
BBC

Some reading this may be aware that this could not be the first time that Peter Capaldi's name is associated with Star Trek. It is not, in fact, the first time it has been associated with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine!

In 1992, Peter Capaldi auditioned for the role of Commander Sisko, the role which of course went to Avery Brooks instead. Capaldi has done so much in the intervening years that a turn as the stern-but-lovable chief of security would be an exciting move for all concerned.

Think of this: lose the attack eyebrows, but that glare coming from the face of the Changeling? Sold.

While no one could ever replace the great and sadly missed René Auberjonois, Peter Capaldi has both the gravity and the warmth to make the role both his own, and a wonderful tribute.
