Casting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Reboot

17. Kai Winn - Sarah Paulson

Ratched Sarah Paulson
Netflix

One might see this entry and think 'are they just basing this off the fact that she played Louise Fletcher's most famous role?'

And to that we reply - partly!

Sarah Paulson is just phenomenal in everything she appears in. She dominated Ratched and has been a powerhouse in her various roles in American Horror Story. She can do funny, she can do horror, she can do authority, she can do vulnerability.

Kai Winn is one of the most hateable characters in Deep Space Nine, though she unquestionably believes that she is doing the right thing whenever she does it. Paulson is an actor who can absolutely sell belief in her actions. This would be a fantastic casting win on the part of this fantasy show.
