5. Kiernan Shipka's Fantastic Performance

Casting an actress to take the reins from Melissa Joan Hart was surely no easy feat, and this series' success undeniably lives or dies on the strength of Kiernan Shipka's performance.

Thankfully, it's a pleasure to report that the former Mad Men star does a splendid job making Sabrina Spellman a character very much her own, bringing an easy mix of charm, vulnerability and courage to the part.

It remains to be seen whether or not her turn will end up as iconic as Hart's - we'll say no, given the tougher nature of the material - but she does the role impeccable justice, and it should help propel her to even further, well-deserved stardom.
