Crisis On Infinite Earths Finale Preview Teases Comic's Ending

We would later see these seven figures in the preview, joined by someone familiar. That of course being Oliver, or as he is now known, the Spectre. DC’s embodiment of death appears to be leading the heroes in a last ditch attempt at defeating the Anti-Monitor

During the chaotic scenes, he also mentions the Anti-Monitor being present at the dawn of time and tells Barry he is in the Speed Force, implying the heroes might be doing some time travel of their own. This set up immediately draws comparisons to the Crisis on Infinite Earths comics and how the story concluded there.

In the comics, after being frustrated in his attempts at destroying all remaining worlds, especially following Barry Allen’s sacrifice, the Anti-Monitor decided he had enough with trying to beat the heroes and chose a different route. He travels back in time to the aforementioned dawn of the multiverse in order to stop it from ever forming. Desperate to save all of reality, the Spectre leads the remaining heroes in a mission to stop the Anti-Monitor once and for all. After traveling back in time themselves, the good guys are captured by their foe before the Spectre unleashes the full extent of his power and destroys the Anti-Monitor’s plan, along with space and time as they knew it.

The similarities are all too apparent and it appears that the first ever live action adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths will go down a similar route as its source material.
