Daredevil Season 2: 10 Reasons This Is The Definitive Punisher

1. He Doesn't Win

At the season’s end, Frank has found the answers he had been looking for. As he further investigated the murder of his family, more and more details came to light and finally he discovered the man behind the massacre that day was his former colonel from the war.

In any other version of the Punisher, the scene where he finally corners his enemy and kills him would be a satisfying, cheer-worthy moment. But not here.

By the time he puts a bullet in the colonel’s head, we’ve already learned so much about the Punisher that it’s obvious this won’t bring him any peace. He doesn’t get a happy ending and the uncertainty of what he’ll do now is both exciting and unsettling.

When he finds the arsenal stashed away, he looks like an addict who’s found a lifetime supply of drugs. We know then that even though he’s had his revenge, the Punisher isn’t going to stop. When he dons the iconic skull vest, we don’t know if he’s going forth as a hero or as a killer.

It’s the perfect way to leave a complex character and opens up infinite possibilities for what’s next for the Punisher.
