Daredevil Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

5. The Shared Universe

Daredevil was just the first piece of a bigger puzzle. Marvel and Netflix signed a deal that would produce series for four individual characters - Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist - before a big team-up event series, The Defenders. We've already had Jessica Jones, which was - in my humble opinion, at least - slightly better than Daredevil, while Luke Cage will arrive in September. Iron Fist is some way off yet, but it is definitely happening, and we know that it'll be Finn Jones (Game of Thrones' Loras Tyrell) in the lead role there. There's a shared universe that's already been established, and we know who all these heroes are now (in terms of actor, if nothing else). That means it can expand its scope, and opens up the possibility of more crossovers. Luke Cage was an important part of Jessica Jones, and it could be that someone else from this universe comes into play during Daredevil Season 2. At the very least we'll get lots of Easter eggs and references, which are always fun to pick up on as a viewer.
