Daredevil Season 3: 10 Ways To Make The Perfect Born Again Adaptation
5. A Blurring Of The Lines
Daredevil, much like Batman, has a big aversion to killing people. It's not that he won't do it - he has, on occasion - but it's definitely not a part of the character's guiding tenets. Matt is Catholic after all, and the taking of a person's life is kind of a big 'no' when it comes to the church.
That said, one of the few times the hero was forced to kill came in Born Again, where he shot down an army helicopter blindly firing into the streets of Hell's Kitchen. Another Frank Miller tale, The Man Without Fear, also saw Matt kill (albeit reluctantly), in his attempts to rescue a hostage. It's not a recurring theme by all means, and indeed, it's much better to see the Netflix series stay true to the character's tenets by emphasising his 'no-killing' rule.
However, it would be interesting to see Matt wrestle with his morality over the course of the show's third season, particularly if the character is really being taken to his limits. Indeed, he's certainly come close to killing Fisk on occasion, and - given the presence of The Punisher in season two - the potential to explore Matt's moral inflections and the internal monologue of his attitude to crimefighting would make this next season all the better.
