Disney Plus: 10 Things You Must Watch First

2. Steamboat Willie

Going back to where it all began is a must for all Mickey fans.

The first Mickey Mouse cartoon to be released with sound, Steamboat Willie is 92 years old at this point in time, and while it may be showing it's age, there's no question as to how much of an impact this simple black-and-white animation has had on the industry.

It's the first time you hear Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey, who's trying to impress Minnie with his musical skills, while avoiding Peg-leg Pete who wants to put him to work, and a parrot that Mickey like to abuse at every turn. The version on Disney Plus is also the uncut version with restored moments that were removed due to perceived cruelty to animals (yet the parrot abuse stayed in for some reason).

Steamboat Willie is now the official logo for all Disney Animated classics, whistling his little tune and spinning his wheel before every film since 2007. As the cartoon that started an empire, you can see why. And now everyone can thanks to the magic of Disney Plus!
