3. X-Men: The Animated Series

When Disney bought out 20th Century Fox, fans knew they would finally get to see the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was made clear that it would take a good long time before that would happen, but thanks to the magic of Disney Plus, we can watch all the movies and pretend they exist alongside the Avengers in a parallel universe.

The big issue with the X-Men films though is that they're very hit-and-miss, especially with the selection currently on offer on the site. For where there's a Days of Future Past, there's an Origins: Wolverine.

One thing fans can all agree on though is that the 90's animated series absolutely blows the films out of the water, delivering on every story that the film series struggled to pull off. Want to see Apocalypse take the X-Men to their limit? Want a faithful adaptation of the Dark Phoenix Saga? Want to see Cyclops taken seriously? The animated series has all of this and so much more.

It deals with it's themes in a mature way while delivering it's action scenes and great character moments along the way. Disney Plus offered many surprises, with the reveal of this being the most pleasant of them all.
