What are they? They are apparently genetically engineered priests whose sole purpose is to take your confession. So why do they have the whole electricity, mad sucky breath thing going on? Why did they rule the Earth since the wheel and fire when their supposed only purpose is to take confession? They pointed mankind in the right direction to get to space but why? What did that have to do with killing the Doctor? And if their entire raison d€™etre is to destroy the Doctor and stop him getting to Trenzalore then why did people €œrun from the Silence€? (€œThe Vampires of Venice€) The Silence are a great monster but it felt like a complete let-down to have them revealed as confessionals. It made sense in a way but it seems that this was done more for the sake of closing a loop hole while ignoring other conflicting evidence.

I.T. Consultant, technophile and Doctor Who fan. I like to talk about tech, take films apart and make excuses for Doctor Who's continuity errors. No other show has the power to make me feel like a big kid.
