3. Danny Pink Is A Segment Of The Key Of Time.

On the wilder end of musings, in the original series, Lalla Ward (on left, later to play the regenerated Romana - the original Romana, played by Mary Tamm, is on the right) played Princes Astra, a living incarnation of the sixth segment of Key of Time, which the Doctor once had to assemble on behalf of the White Guardian. Given that this situation with cracks in space-time being open is still going on, and that Gallifrey is somehow on the other side of them, it may be necessary for the Doctor to again assemble the pieces in order to fix everything, bringing Gallifrey and the Time Lords back, closing these cracks, and otherwise returning some measure of stability to space, time, the vortex, and all. While not necessarily likely, there are all manner of possibilities from the original series that would fall into this category, just like there are so many new things that can be developed to make him a crucial lynchpin in a story arc or two. In its way, any of these items, so far, relate to Danny being some sort of plot device, somehow integral to the story-line, much like was done with Rose, Donna, Amy, Rory, and Clara at one point or another, having them somehow surpass normal human abilities in the course of the chronicles of The Doctor.
