Doctor Who: 11 Funniest Moments From The Eleventh Doctor

5. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

Series 7. Episode 2. 8 September 2012. Rory's Dad Brian meets The Doctor and discovers the TARDIS for the first time. Brian's up a ladder changing a light bulb at the time, just as Amy and Rory become aware that the TARDIS' is nearby. They think it's materialising in the back garden, only to find that it has, in fact, materialised around them. Soon after, The Doctor interrogates Brian. "Do you really think I'm that stupid I wouldn't notice? How did you get aboard, eh? Transmat? Who sent you?". When Rory explains the Brian connection, The Doctor turns on Rory instead. "Well frankly that's outrageous. You think you can just bring your Dad along without asking. I'm not a taxi service you know!". But when Rory reminds him that it was he who materialised around them, The Doctor becomes instantly convivial. "Oh! Well that's fine then, my mistake. Hello Brian! How are you? Nice to meet you. Welcome... welcome.". The Doctor introduces Amy and Rory, along with Queen Nefertiti and Riddell, as "the gang", before poor Brian has to admit he doesn't have a clue what's going on. Rory starts to explain about when he and Amy first went travelling. "To Thailand", Brian agrees, before Rory clarifies: "...more the entirety of space and time. In that Police Box". The whole sequence is neatly wrapped up with a dinosaur coming out of a giant, brightly lit elevator.

I'm just a guy who loves words. I discover vast tracts of uncharted enjoyment by chucking words together and coming up with stuff that talks about the things I enjoy and love most. I'm also a massive listaholic, so I'm probably talking about a list, looking at a list or banging away at another What Culture list as you read this. My tone's pretty relaxed and conversational, with a liberal sprinkling of sparkling wit, wilting sarcasm and occasional faux-condescension - with tongue almost always firmly planted in cheek.
