Doctor Who: 11 Things We'll Miss About The Eleventh Doctor

5. His Humour

Eleven Humor One of the consistent personality traits of each Doctor is that they've all been humorous to some degree, whether it's through their words or actions. Because of this, I'm not going to say that being funny is a trait that only the Eleventh Doctor possesses because that wouldn't be true, but I do think Eleven is the most diverse humorously. Similar to previous Doctors, the Eleventh often had recurring phrases, quips and gags that he would bust out at the opportune moment. It could be as simple as referring to Amy just as Pond (her last name) or continuing to include jammy dodgers into his multiple adventures, like passing one off as a detonator to the Daleks or requesting one for his research in The Impossible Astronaut. Other recurring gags include his bluntness with children and drinking alcohol and promptly spitting it back out. Honestly, I could write a whole article about times the Doctor has been funny, but that would be a waste of time since there are YouTube compilations of his shenanigans. Instead, I'll just list off a few of my favorite humorous moments with the Doctor. The episode The Lodger is one of my favorites because most of the episode has the Doctor living a suburban life. His interactions with Craig are priceless, from misunderstanding how he's supposed to act if there's a girl brought over or jumping out of the shower at a potential sign of trouble, but grabbing a toothbrush instead of his sonic screwdriver. He also excels better at regular life as much as he does his own crazy life, playing football better and doing Craig's job better. Another favorite moment of mine is his retort to his companions in The Impossible Astronaut "I'm being extremely clever up here and there's no one to stand around looking impressed. What's the point in having you all?" There's also his many retorts to people and monsters he encounters, such as shouting "Yo-Ho-Ho" to some pirates or getting a Weeping Angel to say, "comfy chairs." I could list more, but I'll just have you all list your favorite moments in the comment section so we can all share.
