Doctor Who: 6 Aspects Of Malcolm Tucker The Peter Capaldi Doctor Needs

6. To Get The Job Done, No Matter What

Anyone familiar with The Thick of It, as well as the spin-off movie In the Loop, are very aware of Malcolm Tucker's propensity for getting the job done. One could say its the entire point of the character's position on the show. And it's that kind of tenacity that the show writers need to draw from when shaping the new Doctor's personality. Using this characteristic is a way to inject some fire into the blood of the ancient Time Lord; although that's not to say that the other incarnations were lacking the drive to get things done, but rather the intensity that Tucker wields when he has gotten his goal in his sight is almost inspirational and could lead to faster paced episodes that could make it tough for his younger companions to keep up and injecting a fiery energy that would add a bit of youthfulness to the character. One thing is for sure though, and that is that Whovians do not want the show to slow down as they get an older Doctor. But that is not the fans fault as Moffat has spoiled them to fast paced episodes full of adventure and excitement and with Tucker's ferocity that could remain a large part of the series.
