Doctor Who: 8 Reasons The Master Is Definitely Coming Back
5. There Are Already Plenty Of Good Candidates
Doctor Who has been capable of attracting some big names for a while now and series eight is no different. As awesome as Charles Dance or Michael Smiley might be, perhaps we already have the answer laid out in front of us. There has been some big publicity surrounding some of the actors playing villains in the show - could one of them be the Master? Mark Gatiss's third episode (the rumoured 'Robots Of Sherwood') features Ben Miller as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Like the aforementioned Jack the Ripper, the Master be may be back, hiding out in the early Thirteenth Century England, about to come face to face with his nemesis the Doctor. Miller certainly has the acting chops to play a big bad, so could episode three be just the first of many appearances? Better still, why not mix it up and make the Master a woman? There was so much talk over a female Doctor when Matt Smith announced he was leaving, perhaps Moffat could play with the idea of a time lord changing gender with the Master instead. It would allow him to test the water with audiences without messing with the titular character. There was a huge buzz of publicity when Keeley Hawes was announced as playing a villanous banker Ms Delphox, described as "a powerful out-of-this-world character with a dark secret". Could she be the Master wearing the ultimate disguise? Or what about upcoming companion Danny Pink, who has been suggested as the Master in disguise? It seems rather silly, but with Doctor Who anything is possible...
