Doctor Who Review: Time Heist - 5 Ways The Check Was Cashed (And Bounced)

Timeheist05 Douglas Mackinnon is the true saving grace of this episode. Even when the story bogs down he gives us beautiful things to savor. He directs €œTime Heist€ with a touch of whimsy, and a wink and a nod to the classic bank robbery movies of the past. The sets are rather spare and utilitarian yet he manages to give us a real sense of movement through an underground space that leads to a vault. His camera lingers lovingly on the face of the actors, pulling emotion from a story that has very little. He makes this episode fun even where it€™s thin and running out of steam.
